Once a Certified Nurse Aide has complete state and federal OBRA-87 approved training program and obtain CNA Certification by passing state competency evaluation test, he/she is ready to work in hospitals, assisted living centers, rehabilitation centers, adult care centers, travel nurse, hospice, nursing homes, long term care facility, mental care centers and home setting.

The jobs of CNAs are not limited to regular health care facility employments but they can also avail Weekend or Part time Jobs. There are numerous health care facilities that require certified nurse aides for all shifts and weekend shifts. In lieu of such shift, they are also offered fair turn or fair shift on holidays.

The weekend shift does not require any specialized job functions but they need to do the same types of jobs. The weekend working can also include, Sundays, and Holidays. The duties for such shift covers common nurse aide duties and responsibilities, such as cooking, cleaning, little house keeping, showering, feeding, and helping with everyday living care activities. CNAs having certificate can easily earn $8.50 during Training/Probation period, though higher hourly pay, raise and benefits are available depending on competency, performance, expertise and experience.

Another type of Weekend Jobs for CNA include, local travel to see patients for assisted living, post-acute medical and rehabilitation care, hospice care, home health care and rehabilitation therapy. These nurse aides are needed to undertake100% travel on a daily basis.

Therefore, you as a CNA must be ready to work any shift and any day to offer everyday care to ailing residents.
