Do you know what it takes to become a level two restorative care CNA? Oregon is among the few states that encourage continuing education and career growth of certified nursing assistants (CNAs). Restorative care nurse aide course is one such course designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of a CNA. Of course the CNA working in Oregon must be in good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry to be eligible for enrolling into a restorative care nurse aide course. This course consists of obligatory 40 hours of classroom and laboratory instruction in addition to 40 hours of clinical training. This course offers a greater depth of knowledge, skills and care techniques compared to those provided in a lower level CNA course.

Those successfully completing the restorative care nurse aide class and become certified in the state of Oregon must practice under the supervision of a registered or licensed nurse. A restorative care CNA is generally employed by rehabilitation facilities as well as home care agencies, hospitals and nursing homes. Certified nursing aides opt for specialized academic programs to improve their earning potential or better employment opportunities.

Nursing assistant programs train the aspirants for challenging and succeeding the nurse aide certification exam and for entry level positions in the field of health care. There are ample of choices available with the students when it comes to attending the CNA classes as they can select a training facility of their choice.

Individual training facility decides upon the cost of the program, program length and admission requirements. Nursing assistant programs are conducted at nursing homes, private and vocational schools too. Several states have implemented legislation which requires licensed long-term care facilities to reimburse CNA employees for the costs associated with training. The eligibility criteria to receive the reimbursement are: Individual must have paid for his/her nursing assistant coaching classes and he/she must have been employed by the nursing home within a year of obtaining the certification. Nursing assistant programs/courses are relatively of short duration and inexpensive nature unlike the other training programs in the field of health care. You must aim to get the state certification as a CNA in order to work as a nurse aide at a nursing home, skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation or hospital.
