The candidates, who are willing to become nursing assistants in New Jersey, are supposed to follow some simple steps. Firstly, the students have to acquire all the necessary skills of nursing by joining any renowned college or institute in the community. Then, the candidates have to give and pass the certification exam in order to become certified and eligible for a number of lucrative job opportunities.

  • A special training course, termed as the Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) is designed for assuring quality teaching to the candidates.
  • Duration of the classroom training sessions is usually 50 hours while only 40 hours are devoted to the clinical training
  • The PCA(Personal Care Assistant) classes are also there for the interested candidates
  • After the completion of education, the candidates are required to go for the certification exam that comprises of 2 stages: first one is the written test in which the fundamental skills of nursing are evaluated and the second one is the skill test that consists of questions related to some specific skills of nursing.
  • Candidates are required to pass both the tests in order to become certified.

The certified nursing assistants are paid relatively higher amounts than the other candidates. Hence, it is advisable for all the candidates to attain their education and certification in nursing fro earning impressive salary packages.
