The nurse aides who are planning to obtain employment in Maryland are required to have a state certification. Most of us have heard about the CNA certification, which is a basic level of certification. One can have multiple certifications in Maryland but the higher levels cannot be gained without having the certification of basic level. When you get qualified for the other levels, your certifications gets listed on the basic CNA card. Each certification must satisfy the state and the federal norms.

Geriatric nurse aides are trained to work in long-term care facilities that provide resident care. A GNA is required to pass the GNA state exam and get certified. A CMA is required to follow 60 hours of training sessions and administer client medications. The dialysis technician must complete a CNA-DT training program and pass the Maryland CNA-DT exam.
