Red Cross program features three phases including, classroom instruction, lab training, clinical hands-on trainings and others. The duration of the course depends on the respective state necessities. In this phase students needs to complete all reading and homework assignments, retention quizzes and lab practice, attend lecture, complete a mid-term and final exam. It is also necessary that a student must be proficient enough on required skills before they are permitted for Phase 2.

Phase Two: features on site clinical experience and it must be completed at the nursing facility designated by the American Red Cross. The clinical hands-on training is performed by providing basic nursing care to residents. This phase also includes, additional specific hours of Assisted Living experience.

Phase Three: comprise of mock testing and a final exam and students needs to score minimum 80% & above to graduate for American Red Cross Nurse Aide Pin..

Successful completion of phase three prepares a student for respective State Nurse Aide Competency Examination for becoming a CNA.
